Inside Out: Moving an Annual Indoor Fundraising Event to an Outdoor Venue
The Heart Walk is one of the American Heart Association’s primary fundraising events of the year and the largest public touch point for the year. In 2019, the Greater Akron team knew they would need additional support as they moved their event from an indoor venue (with a covered track) to an outdoor venue and walk. Helping them move the festival to Lock 3, and to create 2 walking routes in a downtown heavy with construction, was a challenge PES was happy to undertake in support of their mission.

About the American Heart Association Heart Walk
Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that’s fun and rewarding for the entire community.
Participants at every Heart Walk learn how their fundraising efforts help save lives by funding lifesaving science. They are encouraged to join forces with family, friends and co-workers to make an even bigger impact – together! Plus, opportunities to learn about the Be Healthy for Good campaign await them at every activity tent before the walk begins.
